Press Release
Jake Kavanagh Book Signing
10th September 2010
Bainbridge International is delighted to announce that writer Jake Kavanagh will be signing books at the show.
A lifelong boater, both power and sail, Jake has always been passionate about boats. He was in nappies when his father first took him to sea.
Previous jobs have included being a policeman, an ambulance driver and an undertaker. Jake joined Thames Water in 1982 as a lockkeeper, and five years later was involved with the launch of a brand new magazine, Motor Boats Monthly. Jake worked as the News Editor, then Features Editor and finally became the Editor in 2001. However, after two years in management, Jake decided that life was much more fun out on the water, so joined Practical Boat Owner as Features Editor, moving out of London and down to their office in Poole. Jake then worked as Practicals Editor, responsible for step-by-step guides, product reviews and restoration stories that made much of the backbone of the magazine. Jake now works as a freelance writer, photographer cartoonist and film maker.
Jake will be signing copies of his books, 'The Ups and Down of a Lock-keeper' and 'Worse Things Happen at Sea' on the Bainbridge International stand from 3pm until 5pm on Friday 17th September.
Bainbridge’s exciting new range of DVDs and books are featured on stand G087 in the Ocean Hall.
